ℹ️ About 4H of Abu Dhabi 2

The 4H of Abu Dhabi 2 is a premier endurance race in the Asian Le Mans Series. This ASLMS event takes place at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The race spans four hours and features three competitive classes: LMP2, LMP3, and GT. Winners in the LMP2 and GT categories may earn entry to the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Yas Marina Circuit provides an exceptional venue for this ASLMS race. The circuit stretches 5.281 kilometers and includes 16 corners. Hermann Tilke designed this Grade 1 FIA facility, which opened in 2009. The track runs in an anti-clockwise direction and offers unique features that distinguish it from other circuits worldwide.

The circuit surface uses Graywacke aggregate imported from Shropshire, England. This material provides superior grip for racing vehicles. The longest straight measures 1.14 kilometers, allowing competitors to reach high speeds. The track has an elevation change of 10.7 meters across its layout.

Yas Marina Circuit boasts distinctive architectural elements. The pit lane exit passes underneath the main track through a tunnel. The W Abu Dhabi Hotel bridges over the circuit, creating a striking visual element. The venue features the largest permanent sports lighting system globally, enabling races to transition from daylight to darkness seamlessly.

The 4H of Abu Dhabi 2 ASLMS race featured 47 entries across all classes. LMP2 had 10 entries, LMP3 included 7 teams, and GT featured 30 competitors. One team withdrew before the race, bringing the final count to 46 entries. This diverse field ensures competitive action across all categories.

The circuit can accommodate up to 60,000 spectators. Covered grandstands protect fans from the sun while they watch the race. The facility includes 40 air-conditioned garages for teams. The pit lane speed limit is set at 60 kilometers per hour.

Yas Marina Circuit required over 14,000 workers and approximately two years to construct. The venue forms part of the larger Yas Island development. The circuit has undergone modifications since its opening to improve racing and overtaking opportunities. The 2021 updates enhanced the flow of the track layout.

The Asian Le Mans Series brings international endurance racing to this Middle Eastern venue. The 4H of Abu Dhabi 2 at Yas Marina Circuit combines technical track features with a strong entry list. This ASLMS event offers teams a chance to compete on a world-class circuit and potentially secure their path to Le Mans.

The race format tests both driver skill and team strategy over four hours. Teams must manage tire wear, fuel consumption, and driver changes efficiently. The multi-class nature of ASLMS racing adds complexity as faster prototypes navigate around GT cars.

Yas Marina Circuit continues to host major motorsport events since 2009. The facility has welcomed various racing series beyond Formula One. The 4H of Abu Dhabi 2 adds to this legacy, bringing endurance racing to a track known for its technical challenges and modern facilities.
