ℹ️ About Sao Paulo GP

The São Paulo GP stands as one of Formula 1's most celebrated races, held at the historic Interlagos circuit in Brazil. This F1 event carries the official name Formula 1 Lenovo Grande Prêmio de São Paulo and takes place at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace. The circuit spans 4.309 kilometers with 71 laps completing the full race distance of 305.879 kilometers. Drivers race in an anti-clockwise direction, reaching speeds up to 339km/h on this challenging track.

Interlagos features distinctive sections like the famous "Senna S" corners and the fast downhill "Mergulho" turn. The circuit's natural elevation changes and banked corners create technical challenges for drivers and teams. The name "Interlagos" translates to "between lakes" in Portuguese, referencing its location between two artificial lakes in São Paulo.

The São Paulo GP hosts all ten Formula 1 teams with twenty drivers competing at this Brazilian venue. Teams like McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull Racing, and Mercedes bring their advanced racing machines to battle on this technical circuit. The 2025 race will use power units introduced in 2014, with cars weighing a minimum of 800 kg without fuel.

This Brazilian F1 race has a rich history dating back to 1973 when it became an official Formula 1 World Championship event. The race initially moved to Rio de Janeiro from 1978 to 1989 before returning to a shortened Interlagos circuit in 1990. In 2021, the event changed its name from the Brazilian Grand Prix to the São Paulo Grand Prix.

The track's passionate Brazilian fans create an electric atmosphere despite not having a home driver on the current grid. The São Paulo GP also prioritizes environmental initiatives with a photovoltaic plant and waste sorting center supporting sustainability goals. This F1 event continues to serve as an important fixture in international motorsport and brings significant economic benefits to the São Paulo region.
