ℹ️ About United States GP

The Formula 1 MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix brings world-class racing to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. This F1 race features 56 laps around the 5.513 km track, covering a total distance of 308.405 km. The United States GP takes place at one of F1's most distinctive venues, with COTA's famous 133-foot climb to Turn 1 creating an immediate challenge for drivers.

Circuit of the Americas offers a unique layout with 20 turns (11 left, 9 right) designed to test driver skill. The track combines elements from classic F1 circuits worldwide, including Silverstone-inspired esses, a Hockenheim-style stadium section, and a triple-apex corner similar to Istanbul Park. Drivers navigate the counter-clockwise circuit with approximately 59% of the lap at full throttle, making 66 gear changes per lap.

The United States GP attracts F1's top talents, with the 2025 grid including Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari colors alongside Charles Leclerc. Max Verstappen continues with Red Bull Racing, while Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri represent McLaren. The Circuit of the Americas provides two DRS zones, creating passing opportunities that lead to competitive racing throughout the field.

F1 has a rich history in the United States, with races held at ten different locations since the early 1900s. COTA became the first purpose-built F1 track in the country and has hosted the United States GP since 2012. The circuit sits on 1,500 acres and features a 77-meter observation tower offering panoramic views of the action.

Technical elements make the United States GP particularly challenging. The medium downforce requirements, significant elevation changes, and varied corner types demand perfect car setup. Teams must balance straight-line speed for the 1090-meter full-throttle section with enough downforce for the technical sections. This combination creates close racing that F1 fans appreciate.

The United States GP at Circuit of the Americas continues to grow in popularity, with recent events drawing record crowds exceeding 440,000 fans over the race weekend. This F1 race showcases the sport's expansion in the American market while providing racing that appeals to both new viewers and longtime followers. The 2025 event promises competitive action as teams and drivers battle for victory on one of F1's most challenging and rewarding circuits.
