ℹ️ About Jeddah ePrix I

The Jeddah ePrix I brings the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship to Saudi Arabia's stunning Red Sea coastline. This double-header event features two races at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, offering fans a unique opportunity to watch fully electric racing under floodlights. The race marks an important moment in the championship's Season 12, which stands as the longest season in Formula E history with 17 races across the calendar.

The Jeddah Street Circuit

The Jeddah Street Circuit serves as the venue for this formula-e event. This street circuit stretches 3.001 km along the Red Sea coast and includes 19 turns that challenge every driver. The track holds the distinction of being the fastest street circuit in racing. Tilke GmbH & Co. KG designed the circuit in collaboration with the Formula 1 Motorsport team led by Ross Brawn, creating a layout specifically modified for Formula E competition.

Over 2000 LED lights illuminate the circuit for night racing conditions. The lighting system ensures drivers and spectators enjoy optimal visibility throughout the race. The coastal setting provides a distinctive backdrop that sets this event apart from other championship rounds.

Gen3 Evo Technology

The Jeddah ePrix I showcases Gen3 Evo cars, representing the cutting edge of electric racing technology. These machines accelerate from 0-60mph in just 1.82 seconds and reach top speeds of 200 mph. The electric motors operate at over 95% efficiency, demonstrating the advanced engineering behind formula-e competition.

Regenerative braking systems produce nearly half of the energy required during races, highlighting the sustainable nature of the sport. The cars feature all-wheel-drive technology during qualifying sessions, race starts, and attack mode periods to maximize acceleration. A new Pit Boost feature debuts at this race, providing cars with a 10% energy boost through a 30-second ultra-fast charge during a mandatory pit stop. This addition creates fresh strategic considerations for teams and drivers.

Teams and Drivers

The event brings together 11 teams and 22 drivers competing for championship points. The grid includes established champions and rising talent, creating competitive racing throughout the field. Pascal Wehrlein, Nyck de Vries, and Jean-Eric Vergne number among the notable competitors taking on the Jeddah Street Circuit. Teams will also field promising young drivers during Rookie Free Practice sessions, giving fans a glimpse at future formula-e stars.

Event Experience

The race supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative, demonstrating the country's commitment to sustainability and innovation. A fan festival accompanies the racing action, offering activities that include racing simulators, live music performances, and diverse food options. The entertainment lineup features performances that enhance the overall event atmosphere.

Formula E cars produce zero tailpipe emissions, aligning with global sustainability goals while delivering competitive motorsport action. The championship continues to push boundaries in electric vehicle technology and performance. This Jeddah race provides fans with an opportunity to witness how electric racing performs on one of the most demanding circuits in the series. The combination of cutting-edge technology, world-class drivers, and a spectacular setting creates a compelling motorsport experience.
