βΉοΈ About Misano
The Misano Moto3 race brings spectacular motorcycle action to the famous Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy. This popular event features young talented riders competing on 250cc single-cylinder motorcycles around the 4.226 km circuit with 16 challenging turns. The Misano track runs clockwise and offers excellent viewing for up to 60,000 fans who attend to watch future racing stars.
Misano Moto3 forms part of the Gran Premio Red Bull di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini weekend. The race showcases skilled riders from various teams using Honda and KTM motorcycles. Each machine produces approximately 60 horsepower, creating close racing where rider skill makes a significant difference.
The Misano circuit has a rich history dating back to 1972 when it opened as the Autodromo di Santamonica. The track underwent major renovations in 1993 and changed direction in 2007. In 2012, officials renamed the circuit to honor Marco Simoncelli, a local rider who passed away in 2011.
Fans enjoy the Misano Moto3 race for its competitive nature and the beautiful setting near the Adriatic coast. The circuit sits in Italy's motor racing region, close to Rimini, Riccione, and Cattolica. Modern facilities include a fully lit track, medical center, and large paddock area.
Technical changes will affect the Misano Moto3 event in 2025, with new session formats creating consistency across all Grand Prix classes. Two free practice sessions will not count toward Q2 entry, while an afternoon practice session will decide which riders advance to Q2.
The circuit hosts many other racing events throughout the year, but the Moto3 race stands out for its pure racing spirit. Riders battle through every corner of the Misano track, using all their skill to find the perfect racing line. This race often creates new stars in motorcycle racing as young talents show their abilities on this classic Italian circuit.
