Talladega has a rich history dating back to 1969. The track was originally named Alabama International Motor Speedway until 1989. Buddy Baker made history here in 1970 as the first driver to exceed 200 mph on a closed course. Bill Elliott set the fastest official NASCAR lap at Talladega in 1987 at 212.809 mph.
The Talladega II race often produces spectacular moments. The track is famous for "The Big One" - large multi-car crashes that result from close racing at high speeds. Talladega stands as the only NASCAR track offering free camping options and features the popular Talladega Garage Experience, giving fans close access to teams and drivers.
This NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Talladega Superspeedway showcases stock car racing at its fastest. The combination of high speeds, steep banking, and drafting creates close competition and memorable finishes.
