About Round 9 & 10

The TC America Series Powered by Skip Barber Racing School brings Round 9 & 10 to Road America in 2026. This race weekend features touring car competition at one of America's most celebrated permanent road courses. The event marks a key stop in the series managed by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation and sanctioned by the United States Auto Club.

Road America Circuit

Road America sits near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, and spans 640 acres of natural terrain. The circuit measures 4.048 miles in length and contains 14 turns. This track has maintained its original configuration since 1955, making it one of the few road courses globally to preserve its initial layout. The FIA recognizes Road America as a Grade Two circuit.

The facility uses the natural topography of the glacial Kettle Moraine area. Highway engineer Clif Tufte envisioned and developed this design. The track features significant elevation changes throughout its length. Cars reach speeds approaching 200 mph on the long front stretch. The backside of the circuit includes "the Kink," a challenging section that tests driver skill and precision.

Permanent hillside seating provides excellent viewing opportunities for spectators. The grounds allow fans to observe the action from multiple vantage points. Road America hosts over 500 events annually and welcomes more than 800,000 visitors each year. The facility also includes the CTECH Manufacturing Motorplex, a 0.8-mile karting track.

Race Format for 2026

The 2026 TC America season features a revised format with two 35-minute sprint races per weekend. This structure promotes precise and aggressive racing from the opening lap. Each three-day race weekend at Road America typically includes five on-track sessions. This balance provides teams with adequate track time while delivering competitive action.

2026 Participants

The tc-america series showcases touring cars from multiple global manufacturers. The 2026 grid includes entries from Acura, BMW, Hyundai, Mazda, and Toyota. The series serves as a development platform for emerging driving talent.

Acura Entries

Skip Barber Racing will field two Acura Integra Type-S DE5 entries, numbered 7 and 25. Precision Racing LA adds a third Integra to the field, car number 73.

Hyundai Entries

Ricca Autosport brings a strong Hyundai lineup to Round 9 & 10. The team campaigns the No. 18 Fawn Group MS by Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC. Additional Ricca Autosport entries include cars numbered 8, 33, 76, 77, and 78. These entries feature both N1 TC and N1 TC Evo machinery.

Mazda and Toyota Entries

FTG Racing campaigns the No. 71 Mazda 3 TC. JMF Motorsports returns with two Toyota GR Corolla TC entries, car numbers 3 and 4. Jesse Dorkin and Braydon Arthur will drive these Toyota entries.

Technical Regulations

TC America regulations ensure close and balanced racing while fostering manufacturer competition. The series uses factory-built or supported turn-key race cars. The 2026 season continues with a streamlined single-class structure. The series combined the TCX and TC classes into one TC class previously.

A Balance of Performance system equalizes performance across different car models. This system may include adjustments to minimum weight, including the driver. Restrictor dimensions can be modified to maintain competitive parity. Turbocharged vehicles might receive ballast adjustments based on ambient atmospheric pressure.

Series and Venue History

The TC America Series was established in 2019 by WC Vision and the SRO Motorsports Group. The series emerged from the former Pirelli World Challenge series. Skip Barber Racing School renewed its title sponsorship in February 2026.

Road America held its first races on September 10-11, 1955. The circuit has challenged racers for nearly seven decades while maintaining its original layout. The track's preservation of its classic configuration makes it unique among modern racing facilities.

Event Features and Local Impact

SRO America events at Road America often feature a car parade through downtown Elkhart Lake. This tradition enhances the connection between the racing community and local fans. The venue has attracted notable visitors including David Letterman, Tom Cruise, and the late Paul Newman.

Road America generates an estimated $74 million in annual economic impact for Sheboygan County and Wisconsin. The SCCA June Sprints at Road America stands as the Sports Car Club of America's longest-running amateur road racing event.

Round 9 & 10 of tc-america at Road America promises competitive touring car racing on a historic circuit. The combination of modern race cars and a classic track configuration creates compelling competition. The 2026 race weekend will showcase the latest developments in touring car technology and driving talent.
