ℹ️ About Fuji
The 6 Hours of Fuji brings world-class endurance racing to Fuji International Speedway in Japan. This WEC race features Hypercar and LMGT3 classes competing on the 4.563 km circuit situated at the base of Mount Fuji. The track includes 16 challenging turns and a 1.475 km straight, one of the longest in motorsport.
Toyota Motor Corporation owns Fuji International Speedway, which explains their impressive record at this venue. The circuit sits 100 km southeast of Tokyo and offers beautiful views of Mount Fuji as competitors battle for position on track.
The Hypercar category showcases manufacturers including Toyota, Porsche, Ferrari, Alpine, BMW, Cadillac, Peugeot, and Aston Martin. These vehicles follow LMH and LMDh regulations with 500 kW maximum power and 1030 kg minimum weight. LMGT3 features cars from Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche competing under GT3 technical rules.
Fuji International Speedway opened in 1965 and holds rich racing history. The track hosted the first Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1976 and joined the WEC calendar in 2012. Hermann Tilke designed the current layout in 2005, creating a mix of fast sections and technical corners that test driver skill.
Visitors can reach the circuit via buses from Gotemba Station or Suruga-Oyama Station. The facility provides restaurants, shopping areas, and excellent vantage points. The competition between major manufacturers and the scenic location make Fuji WEC a standout race.
The six-hour format tests team strategy, driver endurance, and vehicle reliability. Toyota aims to extend their success at their home circuit, while other manufacturers look to challenge their dominance at Fuji. This race demonstrates how WEC combines advanced technology with sporting excellence in a spectacular setting.
