βΉοΈ About Spa
The TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps brings world-class endurance racing to Belgium's legendary circuit. This FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) event showcases the best prototype and GT racing teams on one of motorsport's most challenging tracks. The Spa Francorchamps circuit features the famous Eau Rouge/Raidillon sequence, where drivers face a steep uphill climb through a demanding left-right-left combination that tests both car and driver.
The 7.004 km track winds through the Ardennes forest with 19 corners and significant elevation changes. Teams must balance their cars for both the fast Kemmel Straight and technical sections like the Bus Stop chicane and La Source hairpin. Spa's unpredictable weather adds another layer of strategy, as rain can affect one part of the circuit while other sections remain dry.
The WEC grid includes Hypercar manufacturers like Toyota, Ferrari, Porsche, and Peugeot competing at the highest level of endurance racing. LMGT3 cars from BMW, Porsche, Ferrari, and Aston Martin round out the diverse field of competitors.
Spa Francorchamps has hosted racing since the 1920s, evolving from a 14.9 km layout using public roads to today's purpose-built facility. The circuit maintains its character as one of the few remaining old-school tracks in modern motorsport.
The 6-hour race format demands perfect teamwork between drivers, engineers, and pit crews. Teams must manage fuel efficiency, tire wear, and race strategy while adapting to changing track conditions. This WEC race at Spa serves as an important competition in the endurance racing calendar and offers fans an amazing display of racing skill and technology.
