ℹ️ About Phillip Island

The Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit hosts the Australian Round of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, a premier motorcycle racing event featuring the world's best riders. This high-speed circuit stretches 4.445 km with 12 challenging corners and offers spectators close racing action from WorldSBK, WorldSSP, and ASBK Championship competitors.

Phillip Island WSBK races follow a flag-to-flag format with mandatory pit stops for tire changes due to the circuit's demanding nature. The track limits rear tire usage to 11 laps for WorldSBK and 10 laps for WorldSSP, adding strategic elements to the competition.

The Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit boasts a rich history dating back to the 1920s, with the permanent track established in 1952. WSBK racing arrived at Phillip Island in 1990, and the venue has since hosted more WorldSBK races than any other circuit with 70 appearances.

Racing fans will see defending world champion Toprak Razgatlıoğlu and other top riders tackle famous features like Stoner Corner and the lightning-fast Gardner Straight, where speeds reach over 335 km/h. Australian wildcards often join the international field, creating additional local interest.

The circuit holds several WSBK records, including the closest finish in championship history (0.004 seconds in 2010) and 18 races decided by less than a tenth of a second. Australian riders have claimed victory at their home race 23 times, showing the strong connection between Phillip Island and local racing talent.

Located 130km south of Melbourne, the Phillip Island circuit combines technical challenges with beautiful coastal scenery. This WSBK round consistently delivers memorable racing moments in a venue that has become legendary in motorcycle racing.
