About Monaco

Rally Monte Carlo, established in 1911, stands as one of the most prestigious and historic rally events in motorsport. Originally designed to test automobile reliability, it has evolved into an elite competition that attracts the world's finest drivers and teams, setting the standard for rally racing excellence.

Unique Challenges

What sets Rally Monte Carlo apart is its diverse and demanding terrain, combining dry asphalt with icy and snowy surfaces. This unique mix of conditions challenges drivers to demonstrate exceptional skill and strategic thinking. The event's success relies heavily on the crucial partnership between drivers and co-drivers, who use detailed pace notes to navigate the treacherous course.

Course and Competition

The rally features 14 Regularity Stages covering over 250 kilometers of timed action through the picturesque regions of Alpes de Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, and the Var. Each stage is meticulously designed to test both driver skill and vehicle capability, with routes that blend historic sections with modern challenges.

Technological Innovation

Throughout its history, Rally Monte Carlo has been a driving force for automotive innovation. Notable advancements include the introduction of all-wheel-drive systems in the 1970s, exemplified by the revolutionary Audi Quattro. Today, the event continues to embrace innovation through the integration of electric vehicles and sustainable practices.

Spectator Experience

The event draws massive crowds, with daily attendance reaching between 50,000 and 65,000 spectators, totaling over 200,000 throughout the rally. Organizers carefully designate safe viewing areas, marked by green netting or tape, ensuring spectators can enjoy the thrilling action while maintaining safety protocols.
