BMO Field, located near the Toronto fairgrounds, will serve as a venue for World Cup matches, creating scheduling conflicts and infrastructure demands that made hosting the IndyCar race impractical. The City of Markham secured a multi-year agreement to host the event, with the inaugural race scheduled for August 14-16, 2026.

Drivers will pass beneath the Union GO Station train line twice per lap: once between Turns 4 and 5, and again immediately after exiting Turn 5.
