F1 Academy - Singapore

The F1 Academy comes to Singapore at the Marina Bay Street Circuit as a support race for the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix. This female-only racing championship showcases talented drivers between 16 and 25 years old competing on one of the most challenging circuits in motorsport.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit presents unique challenges with its 19 turns and 4.940 km length. The race takes place at night under 1,600 floodlights, creating a stunning backdrop against Singapore's skyline. Drivers face high humidity and temperatures around 30°C, making this one of the most physically demanding races.

F1 Academy cars use identical Tatuus F4-T421 chassis powered by Autotecnica Motori 1.4-liter turbocharged engines producing 174 horsepower. The Singapore race features two 30-minute competitions per weekend with a unique points system. The first race uses a reverse grid format, while the second race grid is determined by qualifying results.

Six teams participate in the F1 Academy: ART Grand Prix, Campos Racing, Rodin Motorsport, MP Motorsport, Prema Racing, and Hitech Grand Prix. Each team fields three cars, creating an 18-driver grid. Ten drivers carry Formula 1 team liveries, including partnerships with Alpine, McLaren, Red Bull, and Haas.

The Singapore street circuit opened for Formula 1 in 2008 as the first night race in the championship's history. Known for its bumpy surface, tight corners, and marina-side location, the track offers spectacular racing. The circuit layout was revised recently due to redevelopment work in the bayfront area.

The F1 Academy Singapore race provides an important platform for female racing talent. The series aims to develop drivers for higher competition levels while delivering close racing action around the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
