βΉοΈ About Berlin ePrix II
The Berlin ePrix II brings Formula E racing back to the historic Berlin Tempelhof Airport. This electric racing showcase features the world's top drivers competing on the unique concrete surface of the former airfield. The Berlin circuit offers drivers a challenging 2.585 km track with 15 turns, known for its abrasive surface that creates low grip conditions and increases tire wear.
Fans will see 11 teams and 22 drivers pushing their Formula E Gen3 Evo cars to the limit. These advanced electric vehicles deliver 350 kW of power during qualifying and can reach speeds that rival traditional combustion engine race cars. The Berlin race features the exciting Attack Mode, where drivers access temporary power boosts by driving through special zones on the track.
The Berlin Tempelhof circuit stands out in Formula E with its distinctive layout that includes long, sweeping corners and sections that run under the terminal building canopy. The 2024 layout brought significant changes, including a repositioned start/finish line and a new left-hand bend through turns 12, 13, and 14.
Berlin has been an important Formula E location since the championship's first season. While initially held at Tempelhof in 2015, the race briefly moved to Karl-Marx-Allee in 2016 before returning to its airport home in 2017. During the pandemic, Berlin hosted six races with different track configurations.
The Berlin ePrix II promises competitive racing as drivers like Mitch Evans, Pascal Wehrlein, and Jake Dennis battle for championship points. Teams including Jaguar TCS Racing, TAG Heuer Porsche, and Andretti Formula E will test their strategies on this demanding circuit. This Formula E event showcases electric racing technology at its finest in one of Europe's most vibrant cities.
