βΉοΈ About Round 5 & 6
The GT World Challenge America brings Rounds 5 & 6 to Sebring International Raceway in Florida. This race weekend features two 90-minute races for GT3-class cars. The event is part of a larger SRO America weekend that includes Pirelli GT4 America, GT America, Toyota GR Cup North America, and TC America. CBS Sports Network broadcasts the races, with live streaming available globally.
The Circuit
Sebring International Raceway spans 3.74 miles with 17 turns. The circuit combines asphalt and concrete surfaces. The front straight uses the original concrete poured in 1941. This mix of surfaces creates a bumpy track that challenges both cars and drivers. Tire management plays a critical role at Sebring.
Turn 17 stands out as one of the most famous corners in American racing. This high-speed right-hander tests driver skill and car setup. The track features long straights, fast corners, and technical slow sections. Sebring International Raceway opened in 1950, making it one of the oldest continuously operating race tracks in the United States. The facility operates more than 300 days per year.
GT3 Competition
The 2025 GT World Challenge America season features entries from 10 manufacturers. Audi, Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ford, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, Nissan, and Porsche compete in the series. The provisional entry list for Sebring shows 15 cars. Teams include DXDT Racing, RS1, Heart of Racing Team, CRP Racing, and Turner Motorsport.
Three classes compete at Sebring: Pro, Pro-Am, and Am. Professional drivers compete alongside amateur racers. This mix creates varied competition throughout the field.
GT3 Technical Specifications
GT3 cars produce between 500 and 600 horsepower. The series allows both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. Cars can be coupes, sedans, or convertibles. Pirelli P Zero serves as the official tire supplier for the series. Forced induction is permitted on cars that come equipped with it from the factory or on cars that need help reaching the target power range. Weight varies based on power output and tire size.
Series Background
The Sports Car Club of America launched the series in 1990. The SRO Motorsports Group has managed the championship since 2018. The United States Auto Club sanctions the series. The championship adopted its current name in 2020 as part of a global branding initiative. Points earned at each round contribute to the global GT World Challenge manufacturers' standings.
What Makes Sebring Special
Sebring International Raceway occupies the site of Hendricks Army Airfield, a World War II training base for B-17 pilots. The first 12 Hours of Sebring took place in 1952. The circuit hosted the United States' first Formula One race in 1959. Sebring is the birthplace of American endurance racing and North America's oldest permanent road racing facility.
The bumpy surface at Sebring creates unique challenges. Cars and drivers face demanding conditions throughout the race weekend. The 12 Hours of Sebring earned recognition as North America's number one race in a USA Today reader poll. The track offers fans open access to the competitor paddock.
Round 5 & 6 of the GT World Challenge America at Sebring International Raceway provides close GT3 racing on a historic circuit. The combination of world-class manufacturers, skilled drivers, and a challenging track creates compelling competition. This race weekend serves as a proving ground for GT3 machinery and driver talent.
