ℹ️ About Round 8 Bronze Test

The Round 8 Bronze Test forms part of the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup at the legendary Nürburgring circuit. This race brings together teams and drivers competing in the Bronze Cup category, one of four classes that make up this premier GT3 racing series. The event takes place at one of motorsport's most famous venues in Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

The Nürburgring motorsports complex can accommodate 150,000 spectators and features two main tracks. The Grand Prix circuit, built in 1984, measures 5.148 kilometers with 15 turns. The Nordschleife, constructed in the 1920s, stretches approximately 20.8 kilometers and features 73 corners. Jackie Stewart famously called the Nordschleife the "Green Hell" due to its demanding nature. The track offers an elevation change of over 300 meters from its lowest to highest points. This circuit was originally built to provide employment in the Eifel region during the 1920s.

The GT World Challenge Europe series evolved from the FIA GT Series in 2013. The championship was known as the Blancpain GT Series from 2014 to 2019 before rebranding. Amazon Web Services now serves as the official presenter of the series. The Endurance Cup component began in 2011, focusing on long-distance GT3 races at Europe's premier circuits.

GT3 regulations form the technical foundation of the series. These rules allow manufacturers to modify production road cars for racing while maintaining recognizable designs. The series implements Balance of Performance measures to equalize car capabilities across different manufacturers. Teams compete in four categories based on driver skill levels: Pro, Gold Cup, Silver Cup, and Bronze Cup. This system creates competitive racing within each class.

The Bronze Test at Nürburgring featured multiple teams competing for class honors. Kessel Racing claimed victory with drivers Conrad Laursen, Dennis Marschall, and Dustin Blattner in their Ferrari 296 GT3. Other notable teams included 2 Seas Motorsport and QMMF By Sainteloc Racing. These teams brought professional preparation and skilled drivers to challenge the demanding Nürburgring circuit.

Pirelli supplies tires for the series, and pit lane regulations include a 50 km/h speed limit. Refueling procedures during pit stops follow specific regulations to ensure safety and fairness. These technical aspects contribute to the strategic elements of endurance racing.

The Nürburgring presents unique challenges for GT3 teams. The circuit's elevation changes create variable weather conditions across different sections of the track. Underground tunnels run beneath the Nordschleife, part of the circuit's complex infrastructure. The Nordschleife serves as a public toll road during non-racing periods, allowing enthusiasts to drive the same track used by professional racers.

This Round 8 Bronze Test demonstrates the competitive depth of GT World Challenge Europe. The series combines manufacturer variety, driver talent, and historic circuits to create compelling endurance racing. The Bronze Cup class provides opportunities for developing drivers to compete at European racing's highest GT3 level. Each race contributes points toward season championships in multiple categories.

The GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup attracts factory-supported teams and professional racing operations. The series visits circuits with rich motorsport heritage throughout the racing season. SRO Motorsports Group organizes the championship, maintaining technical regulations and sporting standards. This organizational structure supports consistent competition across all events.
