Round 8 of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup takes place at Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy. This race serves as a support event for the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix. The porsche-supercup features identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars competing across Overall, ProAm, and Rookie classifications. Teams will race the brand new Porsche 911 Cup at this event, marking a new generation of competition vehicles for the series.

The Temple of Speed

Autodromo Nazionale Monza stands as one of motorsport's most famous circuits. Built in 1922, this track measures 5.793 kilometers and features 11 turns in a clockwise direction. Long straights and tight chicanes define the layout at Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Drivers experience full throttle conditions for nearly 80 percent of each lap. Key sections include Variante del Rettifilo, Curva Grande, Variante della Roggia, Curve di Lesmo, Variante Ascari, and Curva Alboreto.

The circuit demands strong braking stability and excellent traction from the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars. Located near Monza, north of Milan, this facility holds a capacity of 118,865 spectators. The track was the third purpose-built motor racing circuit in the world and remains the oldest in mainland Europe.

Technical Specifications

The race weekend at Autodromo Nazionale Monza follows a standard format with practice sessions, qualifying, and the main race. The Porsche Supercup began in 1993 as a support series to the FIA Formula One World Championship. The series has evolved through various generations of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup model, from 964-based cars to current 992-generation vehicles and now the new Porsche 911 Cup. This platform provides talent development opportunities in GT racing.

Autodromo Nazionale Monza has hosted the Italian Grand Prix since 1950, missing only the 1980 edition. The track was constructed in just 110 days and remains one of four current Formula 1 circuits that were part of the inaugural 1950 championship season.
