βΉοΈ About Race of Champions
The Race of Champions (ROC) is an annual motorsport event where champion drivers from various racing disciplines compete. In 2025, the roc will take place at Accor Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park, Australia on March 7 and 8. This marks the first time the event is held in Australia. The Race of Champions pits drivers against each other in identical cars on a specially designed circuit with parallel lanes. Drivers first compete individually in a knockout format to determine the "Champion of Champions." There is also a ROC Nations Cup, where teams of two drivers represent their country.
The circuit features a mix of tarmac and off-road sections to test different driving skills. All drivers compete in identical cars prepared by a central team, ensuring a level playing field with no equipment advantage. Vehicles used typically include touring cars, rally cars, supercars, single-seaters, and off-road buggies. Drivers already confirmed for 2025 include Sebastian Vettel, Mick Schumacher, Jamie Whincup, Valtteri Bottas, and Heikki Kovalainen, with more big names expected.
The ROC provides a rare opportunity to see champions from Formula 1, WRC, NASCAR, IndyCar, and other series go head-to-head. With its unique format and diverse lineup of star drivers, this premier event promises intense competition and thrilling action for motorsports fans in Sydney. Watching the world's best drivers push their skills to the limit in identical machinery is a spectacle not to be missed.
