About Race of Champions

The Race of Champions brings world-class motorsport action to Accor Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park in 2025. This prestigious international event features champion drivers from Formula 1, World Rally Championship, NASCAR, IndyCar, and other top racing categories competing head-to-head in identical cars. The ROC transforms Accor Stadium into a competitive racing venue with a custom-built 1-kilometer parallel track designed specifically for this format, allowing fans to witness direct driver-versus-driver battles that test pure skill.

The ROC at Sydney Olympic Park includes two main competitions: the Nations Cup, where drivers pair up to represent their countries, and the individual Race of Champions, where competitors face off for the Henri Toivonen Memorial Trophy. The event showcases six different car types across the competitions, creating a true test of driving ability rather than vehicle performance. A team of 200 workers will construct the specialized track inside Accor Stadium, converting this Olympic venue into a racing circuit.

Fans attending the Race of Champions at Sydney Olympic Park will see motorsport stars like Sebastian Vettel, Mick Schumacher, Valtteri Bottas, and Sébastien Loeb competing alongside Australian favorites including Will Brown, Jamie Whincup, and Molly Taylor. This marks the first time Australia hosts the ROC, adding Sydney to the list of iconic locations that have welcomed this global competition since its founding in 1988.

The unique ROC format features knockout-style competition with group stages leading to quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a best-of-three Grand Final. This structure creates intense racing moments as drivers adapt to different vehicles while facing off against competitors from various racing disciplines. The Race of Champions at Accor Stadium delivers racing in its purest form, with the 82,000-capacity venue providing an electric atmosphere for this celebrated motorsport challenge.

Sydney Olympic Park provides an ideal setting for the ROC with its excellent transport links and world-class facilities. The Race of Champions transcends traditional motorsport by bringing together champions from diverse racing backgrounds to compete on equal terms. This event promises to deliver memorable contests between the best drivers in the world, making motorsport history at Accor Stadium.
