About Round 5 & 6
Sebring International Raceway hosts Round 5 & 6 of the TC America Powered by Skip Barber Racing School series. The historic Florida circuit welcomes touring car racing as part of the eighth season of the TC America championship. The 2026 season features a refined format with two 35-minute sprint races per weekend, delivering fast-paced competition across three days of track action.
Race Format and Structure
The TC America series presents a streamlined race weekend format for the 2026 season. Each event includes five on-track sessions spread across three days. The two 35-minute sprint races test driver skill and race craft from start to finish. This format emphasizes precision and aggressive driving while keeping the series accessible for teams and competitors.
The series operates with a single-class structure for 2026. Previous TCX and TC classes now compete together in one unified TC class. This change creates a more consolidated field of competition among touring car manufacturers.
About Sebring International Raceway
Sebring International Raceway stands as North America's oldest sports car racing facility. The circuit opened on New Year's Eve in 1950 with the Sam Collier 6 Hour Memorial race. The track stretches 3.74 miles (6.019 km) and features 17 turns that challenge both drivers and machinery.
The circuit occupies a portion of Sebring Regional Airport. During World War II, this site served as Hendricks Army Airfield, a training base for B-17 bomber crews. The track uses the original airfield runways and connecting roads, which creates a unique mix of concrete and asphalt surfaces. This combination produces one of the bumpiest racing surfaces in professional motorsports.
Track Characteristics
Sebring International Raceway combines long straights with high-speed corners and technical slow sections. The concrete sections from the original airfield runways remain a signature feature. These rough patches test vehicle durability and driver endurance throughout each race. Many turns along the circuit carry names that honor early teams and drivers who competed here.
The facility offers complete paddock access for fans and elevated viewing mounds around the circuit. USA Today recognized Sebring as one of the world's ten best auto races. The venue maintains its reputation as one of the most fan-friendly circuits in motorsports.
Participants and Manufacturers
The TC America grid showcases touring cars from major global manufacturers. For the 2026 season, brands including Acura, BMW, Hyundai, Mazda, and Toyota field entries at Sebring International Raceway.
Acura
Acura enters the season with the Integra Type-S DE5 platform. Skip Barber Racing fields two entries numbered 7 and 25. Precision Racing LA adds a third Acura entry with the number 73 car.
Hyundai
Hyundai fields multiple entries under the Ricca Autosport banner. The lineup includes the No. 18 Fawn Group MS by Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC. Additional Ricca Autosport entries carry numbers 8, 33, 76, 77, and 78. The team campaigns both N1 TC and N1 TC EVO machinery.
Mazda
FTG Racing campaigns the No. 71 Mazda 3 TC in the series.
Toyota
JMF Motorsports returns with Toyota GR Corolla TC entries. Jesse Dorkin pilots the No. 3 car while Braydon Arthur drives the No. 4 entry.
Technical Regulations
The TC America series uses tightly regulated, factory-built race cars. Technical rules promote close and safe racing while preserving manufacturer competition. All vehicles must comply with regulations regarding mandatory pressure sensors and series data monitoring systems. The specifications create balanced performance across different manufacturers and models.
Series History and Background
The Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO) manages TC America, which receives sanctioning from the United States Auto Club. The series traces its roots through previous incarnations under the Speedvision, Speed, and Pirelli World Challenge names. TC America serves as a development platform for emerging driving talent in professional motorsports.
Sebring International Raceway has hosted major events since its opening. The first 12 Hours of Sebring took place on March 15, 1952, and quickly became an international endurance racing fixture. The circuit hosted the United States' first Formula One race in 1959. The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship continues to use the facility for major races.
What Makes This Event Special
Round 5 & 6 at Sebring International Raceway combines the challenging nature of the historic circuit with competitive touring car racing. The rough concrete sections that remain from the original airfield test both driver ability and vehicle reliability. The sprint race format demands immediate speed and strategic thinking throughout each 35-minute race.
The TC America series brings close manufacturer competition to this legendary Florida track. The single-class structure for 2026 puts different brands and models in direct competition. Fans can access the paddock area and view the action from multiple vantage points around the circuit. This race weekend promises competitive touring car action on one of motorsports' most historic venues.
