ℹ️ About COTA

The Lone Star Le Mans FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) race returns to Circuit Of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. This 6-hour endurance race showcases the world's premier sports car competition on one of America's most challenging tracks. COTA features a 3.426-mile circuit with 20 distinctive turns and 133 feet of elevation change. The famous uphill approach to Turn 1, known as "Big Red," creates a unique challenge for drivers and delivers fantastic racing action.

Fans will see competition across two main categories at the COTA WEC race. The Hypercar class features manufacturers like Toyota, Porsche, Ferrari, Cadillac, and BMW with prototype vehicles producing 500 kW of power. The LMGT3 class includes production-based race cars from Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, BMW, and Corvette. These cars utilize 100% renewable fuel, supporting motorsport's sustainable future.

The Circuit Of The Americas offers spectators exceptional viewing opportunities with its 251-foot observation tower providing panoramic views of the entire track. COTA's counter-clockwise layout incorporates elements from famous circuits worldwide, including sections inspired by Brazil's Interlagos and Britain's Silverstone.

COTA first welcomed WEC in 2013 as part of the Lone Star Le Mans event. The track stands as the first purpose-built Formula 1 circuit in the United States, opening in 2012. Beyond racing, the facility includes the Austin360 Amphitheater and spans 1,500 acres just 15 miles from downtown Austin.

Technical innovations for the WEC at COTA include multi-color LED display panels on cars to help fans track race positions. The Balance of Performance (BoP) system ensures close competition between different vehicle designs. Each class features dedicated tire suppliers, with Michelin supporting Hypercar and Goodyear providing tires for LMGT3.

The COTA WEC race offers fans the chance to see day-to-night racing as the 6-hour format often begins in daylight and concludes under floodlights. This race format tests driver skill, team strategy, and vehicle reliability on a world-class circuit. The competition at Circuit Of The Americas promises close racing and technological innovation at the highest level of sports car racing.
