ℹ️ About Lime Rock

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series returns to Lime Rock Park for the LIUNA 150 in Lakeville, Connecticut. This road course race challenges drivers with 100 laps covering 150 miles on one of the most technical tracks in professional stock car racing. Lime Rock provides a natural-terrain road course that tests driver skill and truck handling in ways few other venues can match.

About Lime Rock Park

Lime Rock Park sits in Lakeville, Connecticut, and has operated as a racing facility since 1957. The track measures 1.530 miles in length and features seven turns—six right-handers and one left-hander. The layout includes elevation changes, blind corners, and a narrow racing surface that demands precision from every competitor. Notable sections include "Big Bend" and the high-speed "Downhill" area, both of which create intense racing moments throughout each lap.

The natural-terrain design makes Lime Rock different from purpose-built racing facilities. Drivers face limited run-off areas and must maintain focus through every corner. The track surface punishes mistakes but rewards smooth, calculated driving.

The NASCAR Truck Series Competition

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series fields bring diverse talent to Lime Rock. Teams competing in the series include CR7 Motorsports, McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, Front Row Motorsports, ThorSport Racing, and Tricon Garage among others. Drivers like Ty Majeski, Christian Eckes, Chandler Smith, and Stewart Friesen bring experience on road courses to this Connecticut race.

RAM re-enters the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as a manufacturer in 2026. Kaulig Racing fields five full-time entries with RAM trucks, adding a new competitive element to the series. Drivers Daniel Dye and Justin Haley represent the RAM manufacturer in the truck series.

Technical Specifications

The trucks at Lime Rock use the short track and road course rules package. This package features a three-inch rear spoiler and fewer diffuser strakes compared to larger tracks. The setup allows for closer racing and more passing opportunities on the compact circuit.

A Different Race Experience

Lime Rock Park operates without traditional grandstands. Fans watch the race from grassy hillsides around the circuit, creating a picnic-style atmosphere. This layout gives spectators multiple viewing angles and allows them to move around the property throughout the race day.

The facility has implemented environmental programs including solar power generation, rainwater harvesting systems, and comprehensive recycling. These initiatives reflect a commitment to sustainable racing operations.

Road Course Racing at Lime Rock

Road course races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series showcase different skills than oval racing. Drivers must master left and right turns, manage brake wear, and navigate traffic in both directions. The 100-lap distance at Lime Rock creates strategy decisions about fuel conservation, tire management, and when to push for track position.

The narrow track width at Lime Rock limits side-by-side racing in some sections, making track position valuable. Passing often requires late braking into corners or better drive off turns. Teams that find optimal setup balance between corner entry, mid-corner stability, and exit acceleration gain significant advantages.

The LIUNA 150 adds a distinctive challenge to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule. The combination of Lime Rock's technical demands, the competitive truck series field, and the unique spectator setting creates a race that stands apart from other events in the series.
