βΉοΈ About Suzuka
The Suzuka Circuit hosts one of the most significant races in the supergt series calendar. This famous figure-eight track in Suzuka City provides a unique challenge for supergt competitors. The Suzuka supergt event features both GT500 and GT300 class racing on the 5.807 km circuit.
The Suzuka track contains 18 corners with 10 right turns and 8 left turns. Drivers face notable sections like the high-speed S curves, the challenging 130R corner, and the technical Degner curves. Honda Mobilityland operates this historic venue, which opened in 1962 as a Honda test track.
During the Suzuka supergt race, fans can watch manufacturer-backed teams from Toyota, Honda, and Nissan in the GT500 class. The GT300 class includes both factory-supported and independent teams with cars from various global manufacturers. These vehicles deliver close, competitive racing through careful performance balancing.
GT500 cars use 2.0-liter turbocharged engines producing over 650 horsepower. The vehicles feature carbon fiber construction and advanced aerodynamics. GT300 competitors run either FIA GT3 cars or specialized JAF-GT cars with the "Mother Chassis" option.
The Suzuka Circuit has hosted supergt races since 1995, with brief exceptions in 2004 and 2020. Its figure-eight layout makes it the only major racing circuit that crosses over itself. This configuration creates varied racing conditions and multiple overtaking opportunities throughout the Suzuka supergt event.
Japanese fans bring special energy to the Suzuka supergt weekend with their passion and knowledge. The circuit's mixture of high-speed sections and technical corners produces outstanding racing action. This event showcases the best of Japanese motorsport technology and driving talent at one of racing's most respected venues.
