About TC America
TC America, powered by Skip Barber Racing School, delivers professional touring car racing across North America with production-based race cars from multiple manufacturers. Now in its eighth season in 2026, the series operates under a streamlined single-class structure that promotes close competition and accessibility for teams and drivers seeking a cost-effective platform in touring car competition. TC America runs as part of SRO America race weekends, sharing circuits with GT World Challenge America and other series throughout the season.
Championship Structure and Race Format
The series utilizes a doubleheader format at each event, with competitors taking part in two 35-minute sprint races per weekend. Points are awarded to the top ten finishers in each race, and entries must complete at least 75% of the winner's distance to be officially classified and earn championship points. The championship recognizes winners across multiple categories, including Driver's, Team's, and Manufacturer's titles. A dedicated Hyundai Cup provides additional competition for eligible drivers within the field.
Event Weekend Structure
TC America race weekends span three days and include five on-track sessions total. Competitors benefit from practice sessions, qualifying, and warm-up sessions before the two sprint races. This structure provides consistent track time while keeping operational costs manageable for privateer teams and professional operations alike. The format ensures that teams can develop their setups across multiple sessions before championship points are on the line.
Cars and Competitors
The series features factory-built or supported turn-key race cars that maintain close ties to their road-going equivalents. In 2026, TC America continues with its unified single-class format introduced the previous season, which combined the earlier TCX and TC divisions. A Balance of Performance system ensures competitive parity across different manufacturers by adjusting parameters such as minimum weight including driver and restrictor dimensions. Current manufacturers represented on the grid include Acura, BMW, Hyundai, Mazda, and Toyota.
The 2026 entry list features established teams like Skip Barber Racing fielding Acura Integra Type-S models, Ricca Autosport with a substantial Hyundai Elantra N program, JMF Motorsports running Toyota GR Corolla entries, and FTG Racing campaigning Mazda 3 race cars. The competitive field includes both experienced touring car competitors and developing talent, creating diverse racing throughout the season. Notable drivers competing in 2026 include Andre Castro, who leads the overall standings and Hyundai N Trophy Cup as of mid-May, along with Justin Gravett, Eric Kunz, Dean Lambros, Logan Anderson, Jesse Dorkin, and Braydon Arthur, among others.
Season Calendar and Competition Flow
The 2026 TC America championship comprises 14 races across seven rounds, visiting some of North America's premier racing facilities. The season opened at Sonoma Raceway in late March before heading to Circuit of the Americas and Sebring International Raceway in the spring. The summer and fall schedule includes rounds at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in June, Road America in late August, Barber Motorsports Park in late September, and concludes at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in October for the season finale. This calendar provides variety in track configurations, from tight technical circuits to fast flowing layouts, testing the versatility of both cars and drivers across different racing environments. The championship battle typically intensifies as teams accumulate data and development through the season, with the title often decided at the final rounds.
