About WEC
Established in 2012, the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) represents the pinnacle of endurance racing, reviving the spirit of the historic World Sportscar Championship. Organized by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) and sanctioned by the FIA, the series has become the premier platform for manufacturers to showcase their endurance racing technology.
Championship Structure
The WEC features a diverse mix of racing classes competing simultaneously in endurance events around the world. The premier Hypercar category, introduced in 2021, allows both Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) and Le Mans Daytona hybrid (LMDh) entries to compete for overall victories.
